Santorini Skies Project Reveal: Part 1
Welcome to Santorini Skies where the blues of the ocean and sky meet into a coastal modern paradise! This stunning new build on Anna Maria Island is the perfect example of how coastal living and high-end design can come together in a beautiful and practical way. There are some extra special moments in this house that really make an impact including the powder-coated aluminum blue railings and the dryvit TerraNeo accent wall in the stairwell. We can’t wait to introduce you to this project!
Just to warn you now, blue is going to be a recurring theme in this house. Our philosophy is you can never have too much blue. Ensuring your blues are in the same hue, although they might be different tones, ensures that they work together in harmony. A great example of this is our first look at the exterior of the home. Benjamin Moore’s Dusky Blue is the star of the show as the primary color of the siding with a sharp true white used on the trim, horizontal railings, and the dryvit stucco that encases the ground level of the home. We also went a bit more dramatic by using a darker blue door, Sherwin-Williams Waterloo, and a silver metal roof. The blues and whites are accentuated by a dark oak garage door and then mirrored in a tongue and groove soffit and decking.
To enter the main living area, you will need to head upstairs and, as previously mentioned, we really have to take a moment to highlight this stairwell. The powder blue aluminum railings really foreshadow the personality of this home - light, airy and fun! Also, the accent wall in the TerraNeo dryvit gives total beach vibes with the texture of mica chips and multi-colored quartz aggregates mimicking the look of sand. We can’t forget to mention the added warmth of the hardwood floors featured throughout the home.
The primary living area includes the living room, dining room and kitchen area with a dedicated bar area. The kitchen reads casual coastal with its vertical shiplap details in Aero Blue accentuating the bar area and kitchen island and the cabinetry in Frosty White. The quartz countertops, Viatera Quartz Calacatta Sol, also serves as the backsplash which is clean, complimentary, and beautiful without being too busy or dramatic. The simple yet modern clear glass pendants add a hint of sparkle from the curves of the seeded glass. The blue counter stools in the some blue hue offer a simple, curved modern effect without taking away from the full space.
Although we love a hidden pantry, this wallpaper is too amazing to hide away. Plus, it's the perfect little peek of color and pattern on the back wall of this kitchen.

The dining area in this grand space is light and airy and is accentuated by the oversized white plaster chandelier. The chandelier adds a bit of grandeur to the large common area but, because its white, doesn’t overstep its role in the room. The wood tones in the dining table, dining chairs, and floor all work together seamlessly to offer warmth and depth to the bright white space surrounding it. The host chairs stand on their own and offer a casual slipcover in a heather gray cotton jute material that really adds to the coastal feel of the space. The leather wrappings of the side chair and the heather gray slipcover help to add some texture and character to the overall room.

Finally the living room really stands on its own with the oversized sectional with cool-toned, plush pillows in the colors of the beach and charming coffee table that has structure and personality while serving as a grounding element to the space. The geometric shape of the white ceruse mango wood of the coffee table is juxtaposed with the softness of the sofa and pillows. The slim profile armchairs are modern and add another blue dimension to the overall space. Again, working in the same hue but a slightly darker more saturated tone they really help to define the living space without taking up too much space and weight within the room. We loved the wallpaper so much in the pantry that we also used a touch in the living room to highlight a beautiful sculpture selected by the homeowner. It was honestly getting a bit lost against the white wall so this intentional repetition of color and pattern really helps to create a cohesive space while making the sculpture stand on its own.
